Eve Online

Hello everyone!
Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. I had to catch up with some college work, and to wind down from that I reactivated my subscription to Eve Online!

Anyone else play this game?
I played for about 3-4 months before stopping. Its been about 3 months since I played it, and I'm enjoying my return! In the 3 months of my absence, everyone I knew on it have advanced pretty far! The main dude who helped me through my first paces was pretty well off when I met him, but now he's totally pimped with near enough all the best ships in the game!

If you're unaware of Eve Online. Its set f*ck knows how far into the future, and everyone has their own ship. You learn skills like gunnery, mining, manufacturing, scanning, loads of stuff! In order to get better ships, you need better skills.

You can also start up a Corporation (Like a Guild in WoW), and from what I've heard, its like running a business!  You have to pay a regular fee to stay open, you can tax your Corp members, you can expand, you can open your own space stations. Its pretty damn awesome!

Anyways, I'm enjoying the game. So I my future posts might be more Eve Online based.

How has everyone else been? :)

  2. I haven't played this before, but I've heard some epic scandals and stories about corporation takeovers and battles with moderators.
Maybe we could work together for a while?

  4. I really DID lose my brother to this game.
He tried to lure me over, but I resisted.

Actually, now he just complains about the game's campers and space pirates and how it is off-balance...you know, stuff people say when they are sucking at a game.

  7. That stuff takes over your life too. Why is everyone doing things that take over your life? WoW, Runescape, Eve Online...then again, >.> What with me and my yuri and Dwarf Fortress.

  9. I've heard good and bad things about Eve.
    1) I hate subscriptions, so it puts me off.
    2) I LOVE reading the things like takeovers, scams etc. that are legal etc. I think it's really smart and makes the game extremely realistic.
    3) I have heard alot about the gameplay being boring. One review stated that they wished Eve was as fun to play as it was to read about.
    4) PVE/PVP combined is awkward, as many would like to play in a PVE only world. I heard one guy lost MILLIONS of in-game money (not sure the currency name, ISC or something?) due to being attacked by another player, even though he only played PVE. Okay, he knew it could happen, but it would get irritating as hell.

Doubt I'll ever get it (especially with my crap computer at the moment), but I'm going to love reading about it still.
